This movie is only good for a laugh or two. Kelly gives life to a rather dull film, and O’Conner adds a bit of humor to this otherwise dull film. I personally did not understand some of it, and I’m sure I’m not the only one. The Beautiful Girl scene didn’t fit in with the rest of the film, and it made no sense. The dancing was good, and the singing was good, but the plot had holes all over the place. Hagen, in her role of Lina Lamont, was just annoying, and her voice made me want to climb the walls.

Kelly and Reynolds made a good pair and O’Conner was excellent as the sidekick. His ‘Make ‘em Laugh’ routine had me in stitches as I watched him flop all over the stage. Kelly and O’Conner had a good connection and made the duo, the best duo on screen, besides Abbott and Costello, and also Martin and Lewis. Mitchell plays his role as head of the studio, with command and respect from the other actors. This is definitely a film worth seeing.

Debbie Reynolds has such grace and beauty, while Gene Kelly has style, and quick feet, and a praise worthy voice. A story that has a quick moving plot, interesting jokes, and songs for everyone to love. Donald O’Conner brings laughs galore to the screen, and his bit has many people laughing as he does falls and flops all over the screen. This movie also has a nowheresville scene that is bright and colorful, and is completely unattached to the film except as a way to tell a quick story. This movie has it’s ups and downs, but I would suggest seeing it.
